Expansion of Laguna del Cisne Water Treatment Plant

The contract involved the preparation of the executive project, civil works, electro-mechanical assembly and start-up of the water treatment plant expansion located in Salinas. Drinking water production is increased by 600 m3/hour, improving the supply capacity for the entire eastern area of the department of Canelones.

New flocculator and decanter modules are being built including the supply and installation of 4 mechanical agitators, 2 batteries of 5 filters each including filtering mantle and support mantle for the formation of sand and anthracite filters, 1 filter control weir chamber and 1 filtered water tank of 1,000m3. The work totals 680m3 of concrete.

On the other hand, 2,100m of 450mm ductile cast iron rising main in sandy soil with a high water table. Special construction methods are used (shielding and nappe depressors).
