In 1998, CIEMSA was contracted for the design, construction, supply of equipment and instruments, installation, start-up, operation and maintenance of the Weighing System on National Roads, a service provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on Uruguay's National Road network. The system comprises a network of 32 Weigh-In-Motion weighing stations all interconnected via web. The contract modality is of the "Concession" type with the characteristics of being very demanding in terms of metrological standards and availability of all the services provided. The program has contributed to preserving the existing road infrastructure, avoiding early deterioration due to excessive loads. It contributes to the formalization of transportation by controlling the validity of the National Traffic Permit and to road safety on the highways by monitoring compliance with the Vehicle Technical Inspection. The National Road Weighing system is Accredited and Certified with the objective of ensuring continuous improvement, service management, quality of results and data integrity, for which we obtained and maintain the following certifications: ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems - Requirements. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 Information technology - Service management, Part 1: Service management system requirements.
